Apples were an important economic crop in the community. The Master Gardener Foundation is planning a heritage apple orchard in the village center.&nbsp;The project&nbsp;recognizes&nbsp;our past and present agricultural community, will provide visitors and residents access to this important aspect of our history. Master Gardeners from Lopez, Orcas and San Juan Islands worked together today at the Extension office to evaluate and diagnose eleven plant samples.
