Perennial. $20 for a bundle of 5 bare-root seedlings |

Cardwell’s Penstemon (Penstemon cardwellii)
A woody stemmed plant that grows 4-12 inches tall with purple flowers in early summer. It spreads by layering and may form thick mats. Cardwellii’s penstemon grows in full sun to light shade, and wants well-drained, moist to dry soils. Bright purple flowers add contrast to rock gardens or dry beds and it’s attractive year-round. Hummingbirds and bumblebees are attracted to the flowers. $20 for a bundle of 5 bare-root seedlings |
Deer Fern (Struthiopteris spicant syn. Blechnum spicant)
A graceful, partially evergreen fern growing 1- 3 ft in height and width. Outer, sterile fronds are evergreen, fertile fronds are deciduous and grow up from the middle of the plant. Full or part shade, or dappled light, wet to moist soil. Excellent in shade or woodland gardens. Occurs naturally in low- to mid-elevations from AK to northern CA. $20 for a bundle of 5 plugs |
Incense Cedar (Calocedrus decurrens)
A handsome evergreen tree, up to 100 ft in height and 12 ft in width. Its flat sprays of foliage resemble those of western red cedar, with cinnamon-colored seed cones that are much longer, up to an inch in length. Its dense, narrow, conical shape and fast growth make it a good evergreen screen or windbreak if planted in rows or drifts. Also good to use as a single specimen tree. More tolerant of drought and cold than western red cedar. Resists pests, tolerates poor soils and fairly dry conditions. Full sun or light shade, well drained soils. Fragrant. Occurs naturally in OR and CA. $20 for a bundle of 5 bare-root plants, 12+ inches |
Oxalis (Woodland Sorrel, Oxalis oregana)

Pacific Rhododendron (Rhododendron macrophyllum)
A medium to large evergreen shrub growing up to 20 feet tall. The leaves are oblong and leathery. Flowers vary from light pink to rose purple, blooming from late spring to mid-summer. Red Flowering Currant (Ribes sanquineum)
A plant sale favorite, this lovely, thornless, deciduous shrub grows up to 10 feet tall. Tubular flowers appear in early spring and vary in color from pink to deep magenta. Very popular with hummingbirds, it blooms around the same time the hummingbirds are migrating back to the islands. Plant in sun to part shade in moist to fairly dry, well-drained soil. $20 for a bundle of 5 bare-root plants, 6-12 inches, grown from plugs |

Tall Oregon Grape (Mahonia aquifolium)
A woody evergreen shrub with yellow blooms from March to May. It’s easy to grow and tolerates a wide range of light conditions but prefers partial shade. Tall Oregon grape needs acidic, low-nutrient, well-drained soil with occasional summer water. Butterflies, bees and hummingbirds are attracted to the flowers. The blue fruit is eaten by wildlife and enjoyed by people for jelly, wine, and dyes. $20 for a bundle of 5 bare-root seedlings, 12+ inches |
Western Bleeding Heart (Dicentra formosa)
Has lacy blue-green foliage and delicate heart-shaped pink flowers that appear in summer. It grows 10 to 20 inches tall in full to partial shade. Western bleeding heart can be an accent plant or groundcover that complements other shade-tolerant plants like ferns, hellebores, and primroses; and hummingbirds enjoy its flowers.
