A Season of Flowering Plants
on Patos Island

This booklet is a survey of 44 blooming plants (34 native and 10 non-native) on Patos Island conducted by Dr. Webster as part of her volunteer work for the Keepers of the Patos Light and 2024 Master Gardener internship. Patos Island is part of the San Juan Islands National Monument and has been federal land since the 19th century. Because of its unique history, Patos Island supports a diversity of wild plant communities. This survey contributes to the knowledge of plants growing in the San Juan Islands by providing botanical IDs and photos of each plant throughout the 2024 season.
