Master Gardener Foundation of San Juan County
The Master Gardener Foundation of San Juan County is a 501c3 nonprofit corporation formed by dedicated WSU Master Gardeners and volunteers to support the WSU Master Gardener Program. The Foundation is a separate and distinct organization from the Master Gardener Program.
Master Gardener Foundation Purpose and Mission
Purpose: The San Juan County Master Gardener Foundation exists to support the WSU Master Gardener program of San Juan County.
Mission: The funds we raise make it possible for Master Gardeners to carry out our educational mission in the community.
WSU Master Gardener Program of San Juan County
The mission of the WSU Extension Master Gardener Program is to engage university-trained volunteers to empower and sustain diverse communities with relevant, unbiased, research-based horticulture, environmental stewardship, and education.
The WSU Extension Master Gardener Program carries out their mission by providing public education in gardening and environmental stewardship generated from research-based information by WSU Extension and other university systems. Volunteers are trained by WSU faculty and staff to be community educators about issues of importance in our local communities, such as enhancing natural resources, sustaining vibrant communities, and improving the health and wellness of San Juan County residents.
